Extraordinary ministers of Holy Communion are needed to bring the comfort of Christ in the form of the Eucharist to those who cannot come to church. Our elderly and shut-in parishioners, as well as those confined in nursing homes and assisted living facilities are eager for this important ministry to be fully revived.
"For I was thirsty and you gave me drink... in prison and you visited me." (Matt. 25:36)
Volunteers in our parish Jail Ministry visit Penobscot County Jail on Sunday morning to offer the Gospel message to those in need of light and hope. Usually a service of the Liturgy of the Word is held, and at times a Communion Service.
