Requirements:
Greeters and Ushers are ambassadors of the parish and welcome fellow parishioners entering the church. They assist with seating, offertory collections, distribution of bulletins, and answer questions. After Mass, they pick up loose papers and straighten up the church.
Greeters and Ushers attend a Mass of their choosing, often working in a group to cover their ministerial duties. All men, women, and youth can participate in this ministry. Greeters and Ushers attend a Protecting God's Children Class and maintain on-going compliance with the monthly online Virtus Training Bulletins. The time commitment varies depending on each volunteer’s availability; some support this ministry every weekend while others may assist at one or two Masses per month.
Interested parishioners should contact the Parish Office. This ministry is open to men, women, and youth. Reading practice can be coordinated with a Sacristan or another Reader. Reader workbooks are available to coach and explain the weekly scripture readings. Readers are assigned to a particular church and scheduled once or twice per month.
This adult role serves as a manager for our worship services, ensuring that the church is made ready for liturgies. Sacristans are the first to arrive at a Mass and the last to leave. This lay ministry is open to men and women.
